We do not as such measure the area placed, we place whatever is required, as such the area is just a secondary issue, we place the amount of grafts dependent on the hair characteristics, hairs per FU, hair types, colour etc. Different densities will be placed in different areas and especially along the hair line and when placing within the native hair.

The scalp is not measured as surface area as such, we use this as a approx guide to give an idea, something people can relate to; the scalp is rounded, not symmetrical, has bone structure and is more to do with volume than surface, like a sphere.

If we take the immediate hair line, 2-3mm of single hair units are placed all the way along the hair line, from temple to temple, then behind rows of 2 hair units but slightly lower density, and then 3 hair and 4 if there are any. Each time the density drops but because more hairs are placed the thickness increased.

If we had to say a surface area it would probably be around 50 cm2, but that is a simple estimate.
