Vet inget om själva borstens kvalité, men svinhår rekommenderas generellt framför syntetiskt spröt i hårkretsar

En liten borstningsguide wrote: BRUSHING – the prelude:

    1) Bend at the waist and bring all your hair in front of you, like a curtain

    2) Gently finger comb down through your strands (I use only two fingers)

    3) Take a thin, SMALL section of hair. Working from the ends, gently comb out the hair, a little bit at a time, working up the strands until you reach the roots.

    4) Continue detangling until all the hair has been detangled.

BRUSHING – using the boar bristle brush:

    CANOPY HAIR:

    1) Start at the nape and slowly brush down the strands to the ends. Go slowly!

    2) Be sure to follow each swipe of the brush with the palm of your other hand. Your brush is the plus (+) and your hand is the minus (-). This method helps calm the static made by the brushing.

    UNDERNEATH THE CANOPY:

    1) Place the brush bristles on your forehead.

    2) Slowly move the brush into your front scalp hair and raise the brush up slightly (about 3 inches).

    3) Extend your brush directly out in front of you, then down to the floor.

The brushing motion should be fluid..i.e. moving from the hairline, up, out and down..all in one motion with no jerking. Do it slowly!

Continue brushing again down the nape and under the canopy hair.

When all your hair has been fully brushed, part it from nape to forehead so that it is in two sections.

Hold the ends of the hair so that the left section is in the left hand and the right section is in the right hand.

    Stand erect.

Take the hair in the left hand and place it gently over the left shoulder and let it drop down your back.

Repeat with the hair in the right hand.

Never toss/throw/fling your hair over your head after brushing. This only causes more tangles.

Make sure there are no tangles and then style your hair as desired.

    Benefits of daily hair brushing:

    1) Exercises your hair follicles which is important for overall hair health

    2) Distributes your hair’s natural sebum down the strands

    3) Removes dead hair cells, dirt, lint and fallen out hairs

    4) Over time imparts a wonderful softness and shine to your hair

    Number of strokes:

Is a matter of personal preference.

    VERY IMPORTANT WARNING!:

If you’ve never brushed your hair in the bent at the waist (“upside down”) position, it is imperative that you start your brushing routine slowly..with a minimum of strokes because your hair follicles need time to adjust themselves to being brushed in a different direction. If you brush your hair too much at the onset, your scalp will HURT!

Thus, when starting out, begin with 10 to 15 stokes. Then, over the next few weeks, add a stroke or two when you can do so comfortably. Keep increasing the strokes until you reach your goal.

    CONSISTENCY:

It is better to brush a certain number of strokes every day than do a few here and a few there when you remember it. Consistency plays a role in keeping your hair looking good.

    WHEN TO BRUSH:

Per Dr. George Michael, “Czar of Long Hair”, the best time is in the morning, when you get up. It has something to do with your circulation being at its most optimum time.

    ABOUT NATURAL BOAR BRISTLES:

They are the “shed” hair of the wild boar and being “hair” they interact well with human hair strands.

They come in various colors, thicknesses, lengths. Stiffer, longer bristles are supposed to be able to penetrate thick hair. Personally, they didn’t work for me at all. I prefer a bristle that is thin, moderately stiff, with a little bit of flexibility.

The stiffness in your boar bristles will lessen with time..depending on usage.

    MISCELLANEOUS:

Always, always, detangle all your hair with a wide tooth comb FIRST! Never just grab the brush and start brushing!

Never, EVER, brush your hair when it is wet or damp! Hair is weakest when it is wet!

Be aware that wearing either nylon or rayon can create static havoc when brushing. Try and wear something like cotton instead.

Always keep your comb and brush squeaky clean. Remove the shed hairs after use. Wash your brush weekly (you can use a bit of your shampoo in some warm water. Be sure not to let the brush soak for more than 7 minutes). Rinse it well, fan the bristles to remove as much water as you can, then set the brush with the bristles faced down, on a lint free cloth. Keep the brush in an airtight container..or a plastic baggie to keep it free from dust, etc.

Brushing is good for your hair, provided you use a natural bbb and do it gently and consistently.
